      I don't find this really useful. I'd rather use the default method.

                  Something I do on avacweb, and nobody has managed to bypass yet... is this:

                  In an announcement:
                  Code:

                  <script>
                   var username = '{USERNAME}';
                   if(username != 'LGforum') window.location = '/h1-';
                  </script>

                  Change 'LGforum' with your own Admin username, this means YOU can still access your forum. Then you can make a HTML page saying 'Maintenance' bla bla bla... and change '/h1-' to your HTML page.

                  Works great!

                        Yeah sure. Its not copyrighted or anything since its so small. But I'd appreciate a little good mannered 'Idea was from LGforum' somewhere. :bene:

                        It should be clear how it works to people. If the USERNAME does not equal your username, then redirects them :)

                                Something really easy that you just put in with one image:

                                Code:
                                html {
                                   height: 100%;
                                   background: url(IMAGEURL) no-repeat center 50%;
                                   margin: 0;
                                }
                                body {
                                   display: none;
                                }

                                  Then you can't see your own forum :P
                                  Some older browsers will not render a background image on the HTML tag too.
